The Chestnut Trail
from Sat 4th September until Sat 6th November 2010
Discover the beauty of the Val Isarco and taste the chestnut.
It wasn't long ago that the chestnut was a dominant item in the diet of the farmers of the Val Isarco. Today, these nuts harvested in the chestnut tree orchards are the star performers in the menus of gala dinners, culinary specialty festivals, delicious desserts, and creative cooking events.

Program
Wednesday: Arrival in the "Ansitz zum Steinbock", welcome drink, short hiking to S. Anna (30 min.); in the evening 3 course degustation menu.
Thursday: Vital breakfast in the "Stube" from the 17th century; hike on the chestnut trail in direction of Klausen; in the evening 3 course degustation menu.
Friday: Vital breakfast in the "Stube" from the 17th century; hike on the chestnut trail in direction of Barbian, "Törggelen" in S. Moritz; in the evening 3 course degustation menu.
Saturday: Vital breakfast in the "Stube" from the 17th century; hike on the chestnut trail to the wine farmer "Röckhof", short winery tour, degustation of roasted chestnuts; in the evening a light 4 course degustation chestnut menu with the suitable wines.
Sunday: Departure after a pleasant breakfast.

Autumn pleasures with Nordic Walking, wine excursions and cultural events
Memorable days with a clear blue sky and a breathtaking view of the Dolomites and the Val d’Isarco. The autumn colours become more and more intense – the landscape dyes yellow, orange and red. The mild temperatures and the warm sunbeams invite to walks through orchards and vineyards and hikes along the chestnut trail of the Val d’Isarco.
